Konsthall C and Mobile Radio present Dubbelradio, a 24 hour radio art festival on 95,3 and 101,1 FM in Stockholm starting at noon on 21st September 2013. Dubbelradio will be broadcast live from Konsthall C (part art space, part communal laundry) in the southern suburb of Hökarängen.
To celebrate the rare opportunity to transmit simultaneously on two city-wide FM frequencies we are looking for radio art works that function as multi-channel broadcasts. This unusual transmission format of two stereo channels presents an artistic challenge. We will encourage listeners to tune in on two radios or to interact with the programme by switching between the frequencies. Works submitted to the call should ideally support these modes of reception.
You are cordially invited to send a contribution to Dubbelradio, including a brief description of you and your radio piece for our announcements. Note: Due to the technical limitations of the internet uplink we cannot guarantee perfect synchronisation between the two FM frequencies.
Unfortunately we cannot offer any financial support due to the fact that this is a new project just finding its feet.
The deadline to send audio files is 15th September 2013.
Acceptable file formats are wav and mp3 (192kbps or higher). Please send two stereo files of the same length in one .zip file via https://www.wetransfer.com to Knut Aufermann at knut (at) mobile-radio (dot) net
Do not hesitate to pose any questions at the above address.
Looking forward to uncovering your ideas for twin-frequency works,
